SOP for Operation and cleaning of label counter

1.0 OBJECTIVE
To describe the procedure for operation and cleaning of Label counter (Reconcile Eng.Ltd, Ireland).

2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for operation and cleaning of Label counter used in Warehouse.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Operator to follow the laid down procedure.
3.2 Warehouse officer shall be responsible for supervision, control and appropriate training to operator.
3.3 Warehouse In-charge shall be overall responsible for effective implementation of procedure.

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY
4.1 Manager, Warehouse.

5.0 PRECAUTIONS
5.1 Ensure performance check of label counter before every operation. In case of switched off the label counter, performance of label counter must be checked again and documented.
5.2 Ensure calibration of Label counter as per frequency.
5.3 Being delicate and sensitive equipment handle with care.

6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Operation of Label counter
6.1.1 Switch ON to connect label counter with the main supply.
6.1.2 Press ON button beside the machine for switching on and wait for boot up to complete its cycle on OP7 operator panel.
6.1.3 Press green power on button.
6.1.4 Select roll of labels for label counting.
6.1.5 Remove right hand side black core holder.
6.1.6 Place roll to be counted on right hand spindle.
6.1.7 Place black core holder into roll of labels.
6.1.8 Push fully down and tighten thumbscrew.
6.1.9 Place empty core on left hand side spindle and tighten thumbscrew.
6.1.10 Push front snap on tension wheels onto tension roller.
6.1.11 Keep the bottom edge of the label roll level with the machine base and wrap “Lead in” around the empty core.
6.1.12 Set desired dispense quantity by pressing F4. Ensure count is at zero first then press ENTER. Press K2 for dispenses count.
6.1.13 Press K1 for a full roll count. Adjust counting speed by Speed Controller during full roll count. Max speed is 100meters/min.
6.1.14 Press K3 for missing label detection. The K3 LED will light when missing label detection is switched on.
6.1.15 Press F2 for emergency stop of the machine.
6.1.16 At the end label counting, press switch off button beside the machine first and then switch OFF the main supply to disconnect.
6.2 Performance Check of Label Counter
6.2.1 Concerned Warehouse officer shall follow step 6.1 to check performance of label counter prior to start every operation by using standard role label of 2000 /5000 pcs.
6.2.2 Warehouse officer take the standard role label 2000 /5000 pcs for performance check depend on the receipt label quantity which roll has to be count.
6.2.3 After completion of performance check, Warehouse officer shall fill “Performance Check of Label Counter” (FWH/012).
6.3 Cleaning of Label Counter
6.3.1 Switch off the Label counter. Remove all objects from label counter.
6.3.2 Clean all of the parts of the label counter with soft clean dry cloth.
6.3.3 Clean sensors with air blow.
6.3.4 Concerned warehouse officer shall fill “Label Counter Operation and Cleaning Record” (FWH/038).
6.4 Frequency:
6.4.1 Cleaning frequency: Before and after every operation of the machine.
6.4.2 Performance Check: Before every operation.
6.4.3 Calibration frequency: Yearly.
