1.0 OBJECTIVE
To lay down the procedure of handling of standard certified weights used within the warehouse.
2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for cleaning and storage of standard certified weights used in the warehouse for performance check and Calibration of balance.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Operator to carry out the activity as per procedure.
3.2 Warehouse officer shall be responsible for supervision and control.
3.3 Warehouse in-charge shall be responsible for effective implementation of procedure.

4.1 Manager, Warehouse
5.0 PRECATIONS
5.1 Check calibration date before use of standard weights.
5.2 Being standard certified weights handle with care.
6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Cleaning Procedure for standard certified weights used in warehouse
6.1.1 Check all weights visually for cleanliness.
6.1.2 All weights shall free from dust particles and rusting.
6.1.3 Clean all the weights using dry clean cloth and cover with polybag.
6.1.4 Record the cleaning details in ‘Cleaning Record of Weights’ (FRM No.: FWH/027).
6.2 Handling of standard certified weights
6.2.1 The weights covered with polybag shall be transferred from one area to another into the warehouse with the help of plastic Pallet & hand trolley.
6.2.2 Warehouse officer shall examine the weights for cleanliness before and after use for performance check and calibration.
6.3 Handling of weighing stones for Calibration
6.3.1 At the time of calibration, Production dept. transfer required weighing stones to Warehouse by Covered Van as per request of warehouse Dept.
6.3.2 The weighing stones will be wrapped and covered with polybag. Warehouse officer shall check cleanliness before use of stones for calibration.
6.3.3 After Calibration, Warehouse officer clean the weighing stones with dry clean cloth and wrap with new poly bags and return to Production Dept. by covered van.
6.4 Frequency:
6.4.1 Cleaning Frequency – Daily (Before and after use).
6.4.2 Calibration frequency: After every 02 Years.
