1.0 OBJECTIVE
To describe the disposal procedure of rejected finished goods, expired control sample, complaint sample, damaged and expired returned goods.
2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for rejected finished goods, expired control sample, damaged and expired returned goods.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Operator to carry out the activity as per procedure.
3.2 Warehouse officer shall be responsible to monitoring the activity as per procedure.
3.3 Manager, Warehouse and Quality Assurance Department shall be responsible for effective implementation of procedure.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY
4.1 Plant Head / Quality Head/ Manager,Warehouse
5.0 PRECAUTIONS
5.1 Destruction shall be done in scrap yard in presence of QA personnel.
5.2 Wear facemask, hand gloves and safety goggles during destruction work.
5.3 Deface printed label / carton / foil before dumping into the bin for destruction and ensure that products shall be destroyed properly.
5.4 Record of destruction to be properly maintained.
6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Documentation for destruction
6.1.1 Warehouse officer shall check Invoice/Challan for returned goods and rejection documents for rejected finished goods prior to receive in warehouse.
6.1.2 After verification of document, Warehouse officer shall transfer rejected finished goods to Rejected store and returned goods to Returned Goods Store under lock and key.
6.1.3 Based on the test report / investigations of QA and QC, Warehouse Manager shall prepare ‘Destruction Note’ (FRM No.: FQA/034) for products and get the authorization from Unit Head and Head of Quality.
6.1.4 After authorization of destruction Note, warehouse officer shall segregate the products in categories of tablets/capsules/metered dose inhalers and transfer to the designated area in the scrap yard for destruction.
6.1.5 Destruction should be done within 7 working days after approval in presence of QA officer and warehouse officer shall filed destruction note along with supporting documents of products.
6.2 Destruction of tablets/capsules/metered dose inhalers
6.2.1 Remove the carton, catch cover, leaflet (if any) and shred it/tear it.
6.2.2 De-foils the blisters/strips and remove the tablets and capsules in a labeled container and sufficient water to dissolve. Pour the contents into soak pit.
6.2.3 Shred the de-foiled blisters /strips using shredding machine.
6.2.4 Dispose the rejected cans using the can disposal machine as per SOP No.:PM019.
