1.0 OBJECTIVE : To set up a standardized general procedure to check and calibrate the air sampler.
2.0 SCOPE : This SOP is applicable for calibration and checking the status of the air sampler, MAS 100 NT.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Sr. Officer/ Officer shall be responsible for carrying out the procedure.
3.2 Overall responsibility for training, implementation & follow-up with the QC Manager or his nominee.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY
4.1 Head of Quality
5.0 PRECAUTION
5.1 Take care that no miss measurement occurs due to turbulence of the air.
5.2 Protect the anemometer from any air current which could directly affect it.
6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Manual Calibration with DA-100 NT.
6.1.1 Place the digital anemometer on the head of the air sampler.
6.1.2 Press and hold the 1&4 keys simultaneously for about 3 seconds until the “Fabtest” menu is displayed to get into the calibration Menu.
6.1.3 Select the adjustment mode by pressing 1&2 keys on the display of air sampler.
6.1.4 Then choose calibration and push select button on the display.
6.1.5 Connect the DA-100 NT to the MAS-100 NT. Press the start button to start up blower.
6.1.6 The DA-100 NT automatically starts to measure the volume and displays the values and the deviation of the calibration.
6.1.7 Note the value on the calibration certificate in the annexure-I.
6.2 Automatic Adjustment and calibrating the air sampler with DA-100NT.
6.2.1 Check the lower edge of the perforated sampling head to make sure that there are no notches or un-evenness. This could lead to a leak between the lid and the sealing ring. If the sampling head damaged, replace it with a new one.
6.2.2 Place the DA- 100 NT on the perforated lid of the MAS 100 NT and connect the cable between two instruments.
6.2.3 Connect the air sampler with the USB cable to the PC.
6.2.4 Start the software on the PC and put the air sampler on.
6.2.5 Select the “Calibrator” from the Access level menu. Then type “mascal” in the password box and quit with ok.
6.2.6 Select the sampling head 300*0.6 mm.
6.2.7 Then set the validity of calibration 12 months.
6.2.8 Set the calibration flow rate 102.5 L/min &select the calibration span 10.0 L/min.
6.2.9 Select the “automatic + calibration” with certificate, press start button and confirm the calibration window with selecting yes.
6.2.10 Then click next and the DA-100 NT automatically switched on and calibration will be done automatically.
6.2.11 If the calibration passes an automatic calibration certificate will be printed and stored.
6.2.12 Calibration Frequency: one year ± 15 days.
