Objective: To lay down the procedure for approval of disinfectants for its intended use.
Scope: This procedure is applicable to approve / reject the disinfectants.
Responsibility
= >> QC / QA officer shall be responsible to perform the activity as per procedure.
= >> Manager, QC shall be responsible for effective implementation and training of this procedure.
Precautions
= >> Store in original containers. Container should be kept in a cool, dry well- ventilated area.
= >> Store away from incompatible materials and foodstuff containers.
= >> Protect containers against physical damage and check regularly for leaks.
= >> Control personal contact by using protective equipment (wear chemical protective gloves, eg .PVC).
= >> Incase of spillage, should be cleaned up immediately to avoid breathing and contact with the skin and eyes.
= >> Incase of major spillage wash area and prevent runoff into drains or waterways.
Procedure
= >> HR department will procure disinfectants from the reputed manufacturers. (As per following list)

= >> Upon receipt, HR department shall request QC department for reviewing the disinfectants.
= >> QC / QA Officer shall inspect all containers for the labeling details with respect to product name, mfg date, exp date, lot number and supplier name.
= >> After satisfactory inspection QC / QA officer shall sign the approved label (FQA/014) and attach it in each container of disinfectants.
= >> No sampling shall be done, only intactness and label details of containers shall be considered for approval of disinfectants.
= >> In case of damaged containers and expired shelf life, the material shall be rejected.
