SOP for Cleaning of Accessories Utensils used for Sampling

1.0 OBJECTIVE
To lay down the procedure for cleaning of accessories / utensils used for sampling of raw materials.

2.0 SCOPE
This SOP is applicable for the cleaning of the sampling accessories / utensils used for the sampling of raw materials under R-LAF in the warehouse.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 QC officer / sampler is responsible to carry out the cleaning as per the procedure.
3.2 Overall responsibility for training, implementation & follow-up with the Head of QC / QC Manager.

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY
4.1 Head of Quality.

5.0 PRECAUTIONS
5.1 Incase the cleaned utensils are not used within 3 days it has to be cleaned followed by drying and sanitizing before next use.

6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Immediately after completion of the sampling activity, transfer all the spoons / scoops and other accessories used for sampling to wash area.
6.2 Flush the spoons / scoops with potable water holding them under the flow of the tap.
6.3 Then brush them with a brush soaking in liquid soap and then again flush with potable water as per 6.2 until all cleaning agents (i.e liquid soap) are rinsed out.
6.4 Finally wash and rinse with sufficient quantity (a minimum of 1 Liter) of purified water.
6.5 Allow the water to drain off.
6.6 Transfer the utensils to the drying Oven for drying.
6.7 Switch on the Oven and set the temperature at 105°C.
6.8 Allow sufficient time to reach the temperature at 105°C.
6.9 Dry the utensils for at least 30 minutes to completely dry off.
6.10 Then switch off the oven and allow the utensils to attain ambient temperature.
6.11 Take out the utensils from the oven and sanitize them by wiping with IPA socked lint free cloth. Then keep the utensils in poly bags / S.S. container and store them with labeling as ‘Cleaned’ (FRM No. FPM/002).
6.12 Record the cleaning details in ‘Sampling Accessories Cleaning Record’(Annexure-I).
