Purpose: To lay down operating procedure for the Operation of Sifter.
Scope: This procedure is applicable to ……………
Responsibility: Production Chemist To supervise the activity
Pre-operating Check: Ensure that the line clearance is done.
Equipment used: Sifter (GMP models)
Operating Procedure:
1. Ensure that the main switch is off.
2. Place the s.s.mesh sieve of required size with s.s. ring on upper hopper and fit the lid on upper hopper by simply pushing, tight the bolts of sifter (check the integrity of s.s.mesh sieve)
3. Tightly tie a clean polythene bag open at both end at outlet of the sifter and keep appropriate container having polythene bag with label.
4. Charge the materials gradually in hopper so that there should be no extra load on the sifter and start sifter for sifting.
5. Change the container of sifted material as when required by switching of Sifter.
6. Remove the container of sifted material
7. After completion of sifting switch off the sifter.
8. Check and collect the passed material and retained material.
Precaution and check point:
1. Check the integrity of s.s.mesh sieve before sifting process.
