Dew Point

The dew point is the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor, assuming constant atmospheric pressure and water content. When cooled below the dew point, the moisture capacity decreases and airborne water vapor condenses into liquid water known as dew. When this occurs through contact with a cold surface, dew will form on that surface.

Dew point is affected by humidity. The higher the humidity in the air, the higher the dew point.

When the temperature is below the freezing point of water, the dew point is called the frost point, because frost forms by condensation rather than condensation. In liquids, the analogue of the dew point is the cloud point.
