Sterile Manufacturing Area Cleaning

Sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing area cleaning is the process of cleaning an area to ensure it is free of any potential contamination that could spread infection. This process can be performed by employees or contracted personnel, and it is important that it is done correctly to prevent any potential interruptions or safety concerns.

1. First, the area should be power-washed to remove any possible contamination. After this process is completed, use a bleach solution or similar chemical cleaning agent to kill any bacteria that may be present on the floor and walls of the area. Any safety goggles or mask should be used while doing this.

2. The area should be re-cleaned with a chemical disinfectant or a wet sponge before reuse for manufacturing purposes. Note: If additional disinfection is desired, a spray cleaner such as Lysol or Zep can be used to disinfect the area. The same protocol used to prepare the site should be used to ensure it is clear of any potential contamination.

3. In case of any spillage, such as any raw material, the area should be cleaned immediately and the above steps should be followed. An effective disinfectant can be used although chlorine bleach is often preferred.
