1.0 OBJECTIVE: To lay down a procedure for Operation of Boiler.
2.0 SCOPE: This SOP is applicable for Operation of Boiler at ………….
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: Officer / Executive – Engineering
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY: Head – Engineering
5.0 DEFINITION: Not Applicable
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1 PRE STARTUP CHECKS:
6.1.1 Check the Furnace Oil Level in service tank.
6.1.2 Check the water level in service tank.
6.1.3 Close the boiler main steam valve.
6.1.4 Check the furnace oil temperature, it shall not less than 50 degree Celsius.
6.2 START OPERATION:
6.2.1 Switch “ON” the Main Control Panel Power Supply.
6.2.2 Put the selector switch in Auto Mode.
6.2.3 Start the Boiler by pressing the START button Control Panel.
6.2.4 Check the force draft blower gets ON.
6.2.5 Boiler firing shall start after few minute after force draft blower gets on.
6.2.6 Observe the increasing pressure, once it reach to 7 Kg/Cm2, open the steam valve.
6.2.7 Check for unusual noises.
6.2.8 Check for loose Nuts and bolts if any & rectify/tight the same.
6.3 STOP OPERATION:
6.3.1 Switch OFF button (O) from control panel, the Boiler shall stop.
6.4 Record the Operation Details of Air Compressor in “Boiler Operation Record” as shown in Annexure-I.
