Responsibilities
Employees are responsible to perform the activity as per the assigned job responsibility.
Section head or department head responsible to assign the job responsibility
Department head responsible to approve the assigned job responsibility
Definition
Job Responsibility: A broad, general, and written statement of a specific job, based on the findings of a job analysis. It generally includes duties, purpose, responsibilities, scope, and working conditions of a job along with the job’s title, and the name or designation of the person to whom the employee reports. Job description usually forms the basis of job specification.
Qualification: A quality, ability or accomplishment that makes a person suitable for particular task or position.
Education: Refers to degrees, certification, and/or licensing earned as a result of formal schooling or course of study at an institution of higher learning (e.g., M.D., Ph.D., R.N., board certified in a specialized field, medical licenses etc.).
Training: Generally refers to short focused programs on specific topics. (e.g., 2-week training program in research ethics, and/or mentoring by an appropriately educated, trained and experienced professional)
Experience: Includes direct participation in activities that provide additional expertise in a specific area.
Procedure
1. The job responsibility of each and every permanent employees shall be assigned after induction and / or qualification, whichever is applicable.
2. Comprehensive and detailed job descriptions should be developed for each position. See form in Template-1 for Job Descriptions.
3. The concerned department head and / or section head shall decide the job responsibility of the sub-ordinates.
4. The job responsibility shall be assigned to the concerned person by department head or section head.
5. The concerned person shall sign the job responsibility in “Accepted By” column and department head / section head shall sign in “Assigned By” column. (Template – 1).
6. Document no details of Job Description are “JD” means Job Description, “BCL” short form of company, “xxxxxxx” employee ID with business code and “xx” Job Description version no.
7. The department head / section head shall decide at least one designee (or if applicable two designee’s) for each individual who will be responsible to carry out the activity in absence of the concerned person.
8. The designee shall sign on the Authorized Designee column in Template-2, after proper training and understanding of the activity.
9. The job responsibility and Authorized Designee shall be approved by Department Head / Quality Head / Location Head, whichever is applicable.
10. The job responsibility of an individual shall be revised as and when required after proper training and understanding of the activity.
11. The job responsibility of the resigned employees shall be stamped as “RETIRED” on the day of his/her relieving from the services of the company.
12. The original copy of approved job responsibility shall be maintained by HR & Admin Department.
13. The photocopy of approved job responsibility shall be maintained in the individual’s training file also respective department head/section head with “Controlled” seal.
