There is no official standard for writing SOPs but some important steps should be kept in mind while writing SOPs.
=>> SOP should be written in word document or google document.
=>> Use the same formatting style to write all SOPs in an organization.
=>> Use font size, font style and margins etc. as per organizational set-standards.
=>> SOP should be written in simple words.
=>> SOP should be written in present tense or active voice.
=>> SOP should not be written in past tense.
=>> The SOP should be written by the person who knows about that activity of a job.
=>> SOP should not be too long, long SOP is difficult to follow.
=>> SOP steps should be written.
=>> SOPs should not contain words such as “probably” if possible.
=>> SOP should be brief.
=>> SOP should contain clear wording.
=>> Use visualization in SOPs through flow-charts or diagrams to understand the people involved in performance.
=>> SOPs should be written not only for regulatory requirements but for the personnel performing the work.
=>> SOPs should be written in such a way that a person with limited knowledge can perform a task by following the SOPs.
