was established in 1962 as Nassar Lab. then developed to Alexandria Company for Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries. Affiliated to Holdipharma on 1991/7/20 as an Affiliated Egyptian Joint Stock Company subject to the provisions of Law 203 for the year 1991. Alexandria Co has a huge diversified portfolio which includes Pharmaceutical Products, Veterinary Products, and Medical appliances.
Alexandria Co. portfolio includes more than 185 products, covering most of the therapeutic classes, including: antibiotics, anesthetics, as well as ophthalmic, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and respiratory drugs and many more.
For over the years, Alexandria Pharmaceuticals has played a leading role in helping advance public health through the creation of innovative products but also by educating medical professionals and communities about infectious disease well before the advent of most vaccines and other modern-day treatments.
Prior to the era of major public health advancements leading up to the 1960s and 70s, contagious diseases like typhoid, diphtheria, smallpox, measles, polio and influenza took a huge toll on the population, so educating the public about how best to stop the spread of such diseases was crucial.
